Best Skincare for Wintertime Sensitive Skin
The winter season brings so many great things such as joyful holidays, beautiful snowy days, and new resolutions. Winter also brings something that is not so wonderful: dry skin. I want to share what has been helping me with my sensitive, blotchy winter skin this season.
As a teenager who suffered with acne, I never thought I’d put oil on my face. Back then, every dermatologist I saw told me oil was bad for acne. Looking back on that advice now, it reminds me of the fat free diet fad. Both the diet and this skincare recommendation deprive your body of its own ability to repair itself.
The tribal pearl earring is practically a new classic. I ordered the $7 dollar steal first to see if I liked the style. Then I decided I just had to compare the two. They are the same size and both made of imitation pearl material. The take away is that the Dior earrings sit slightly different in my ear. The Dior’s has more of a robust clip to them. My recommendation is that is you like the look of the tribal pear start with the $7 earrings. Then go from there. There are so many exciting new Dior designs on the market with the new creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, I can hardly wait to see what’s next.
Who wants a mid-day mood enhancer? A subtle floral scent, plumper lips, and eyes that pop do the trick. We can do one or all three in less than 30 seconds, feel refreshed and ready to take on whatever obstacles cross our path. The lashes may take a little longer than 30 seconds, but you get my drift. Dry skin means wrinkles which translates to a sense of urgency in my world. I’ve been searching for a way to keep my skin hydrated. Avène is a go to brand for French women. It provides deep hydration. I’ve had the cold cream but was not that impressed until I combined it with their body oil and — Voilà! The body oil must be applied first and then the cream locks the moisture in. You can also mix a couple pumps of oil and lotion in your hands and spread it that way when you’re in a hurry. When I said drug store I meant a French drug store which is apparently equivalent to an American department store. Thank goodness for Amazon.
I’ve always been nervous about exfoliating my skin and I’ve tried numerous products over the years. This is the first time I’ve ever had great results. The tip is to leave it on for 5 minutes instead of one minute per the instructions. Literally my skin feels radiant after with no breakout. I do this once or twice a week.
