How to Have More Outfits with Less Clothes
An overflowing closet can make me feel like I have nothing to wear! Totally ironic, right? You’d think the more clothes, the more outfit options. Well, this is not necessarily true. I’ve been noticing that really stylish women seem to have fewer items, but they wear them often on rotation.
It’s OK to shop like a man and re-buy your most used pieces
This summer I started to analyze the wardrobe capsule concept. Without even realizing it, I’d already been watching my husband do it for years. For example, every year he gets a certain number of white shirts. He’s not afraid to re-buy what he knows he will wear on repeat. I always thought I needed more variety in my wardrobe, but that’s not necessarily true. Stylish women I see have a simple way of dressing, and they choose new pieces that conform to their established look.
Who wants more outfits and with fewer clothes?
The secret is simple. Invest in versatility.
1st. Figure out what flatters your shape and what makes you confident. Know this process changes over time.
2nd. Stick to a neutral color palette or a color specific plan.
3rd. Invest in versatility.
Embrace the wardrobe capsule and discover what outfits work for you.
Tip for the reluctant purger:
They say purging is a key to developing your style and to making outfit planning easy. I struggle with this so in the interim there’s always removing items from your closet and having them on extra clothing racks in another location until they find a new home 🙂
Thanks for visiting! I’d love to hear your thoughts on how to have more outfits with fewer clothes.
