How to Make Denim on Denim Feminine
“Well, I just LOVE denim! I Love it!” In my mind, I can hear these words through the voice of my very stylish grandmother. Since I feel the same way, I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Wear Denim on Denim and Still Feel Like a Woman
Denim has so many different styling options, so why not?
But it usually DOES feel as though we’re borrowing from the boys’ and there’s nothing wrong with that. Sometimes it’s just fun to play up your feminine side.
ABOUT THIS LOOK:
This top from Madewell is awesome. It’s so flattering. It’s cropped at just the right spot to pair with high-rise jeans. This borrowed-from-the-’70s denim top also ties at the side for a flattering detail fit.
These jeans are my new favorite. They’re SO soft. They’re high-waisted and slim fit with the beautiful raw hems. That’s especially true when compared to Levi’s that have no stretch. The ultra-high waist is at the top of the straight-leg silhouette of these stretch-woven jeans. Raw hems finish off the bottom. All-in-all, these jeans blend cool, vintage attitude with modern comfort.
Accessories are Everything
I mentioned earlier that you can go heavy denim, but not without accessories. You’ll need to break it up the denim at least a little. You can do this with these of-the-moment, yet classic pieces.
The Retro Style Headband is probably my favorite accessory for the season.
I’m enjoying the headband turban trend, much to my husbands’ dismay. 😉 This one is most comfortable to wear. I even wear it around the house.:D It’s a linen silk blend that is bendable and adjustable with a wire inside the lining.
These white hoops are for the win! They are acrylic hoops with a pearl finish.
See by Chloe espadrilles = TOTAL obsession. I just want them in EVERY color. I have some in black, but this color is more flattering. And so I wear these the most.
These sunnies are the most flattering. You can also buy them at slightly more reasonable price than most designer sunnies.
And last but not least, we have the classic gold chain bracelet. I’m so in love with this new wardrobe staple.

This look is killing it! Denim on denim is something I love to rock and you’re doing exactly that here! I love that all the feminine accessories to a D+D look make any pairing look so amazingly retro in the best way. This has 40’s all over it and I’m OBSESSED.
