Activewear Packing List for Girls on the Go
Getting Started
Packing sucks! I hate it. The only thing that makes packing fun is packing new stuff.
Following this last trip, though, I did have ONE epiphany. Using the packing list below served me really well. Packing fitness activewear for travel can be nerve-wracking because you don’t know how the weather’s going to be. That’s especially true when traveling to California.
Before we get to the list, here are a few quick tips:
-
Layering is key. (And layering cute is fun. 🙂 )
-
Do NOT overpack, even though it’s challenging because we want options. (A SERIOUS uphill climb for me!)
I’ve begun overhauling my wardrobe. My ultimate goal is to minimize it to a few key pieces. Fingers crossed, this is beginning to happen. I’m starting to focus on the key pieces that make for a great seasonal update. In this post specifically, I’ll provide a packing list for an athletic fashion girl.
Ideal Activewear for Travel
Activewear travel checklist:
-
Broken-in sneakers, which I prefer in solid black or white.
-
Several sports bra tops.
-
Shorts.
-
Leggings.
-
Hat (baseball cap or my ugly visor, if you obsess about your skin as I do).
-
Hair accessories.
-
Backpack (not too big, not too small).
-
Powder sunscreen for face.
-
Travel sunscreen for your hands.
-
Really cute activewear jacket sweatshirt(I personally love my pale pink one).
-
Activewear vest. (I’m a huge fan of a vest for exercising layer functionality. It’s just the right amount temperature control).
-
Apple Watch. (I feel lost without it).
Be cute. Be active.
In the world of activewear, there’s activewear for dressing cute and there’s activewear for being active. I prefer not to choose. I like to find pieces that do both. 🙂
Transitioning in and out of airconditioned spaces while sweaty has never been as comfortable as with this cute little bomber. My husband thinks it looks too nice to be workout gear. Men;)
Fitness Wardrobe update
I recently updated all my fitness essentials for two reasons.
-
It’s fun! 😀
-
It helps me keep exercise as a priority.
Thanks for visiting!
Let me know if you want to know more about how I find my vintage bags or anything else?

Great post! Love all these pieces. I’m such chronic overpacker. Even of my activewear. It’s such a struggle. – Stephanie | http://www.theborrowedbabes.com

The ONLY activewear I buy consists of pieces that are “for dressing up and for being active.” Gotta have clothes that do double-duty. Love how you styled these!

Very nice! I understand the quandary of packing. I may not overpack for fitness, but generally speaking it can be challenge.

Okay, I totally understand the over packing struggle. I recently went on a trip for the weekend and my suitcase was still 50lbs! My Uber driver even “yelled” at me. I love the bomber jacket. I just got out yoga and am sitting in a coffee shop with the air on and I’m freezing! I wish there was more cute pieces like your jacket for us plus size gals who are active.

LOL!!! Getting yelled at by an Uber driver for having a heavy bag sounds HILARIOUS.
Well thank you! Glad you like my jacket. 🙂
And I know what you mean about coffee shops. It seems as though they’re ALWAYS COLD inside, no matter what time of year.
