Lets Talk Statement Pants

Hi my fashion friends! My attraction, fascination and obsession with the 70s lives on. These high waisted pleated flair pants definitely make a statement. I’m at times apprehensive to wear pleats because I have thighs and curves and pleats usually add bulk to my look. However, these pants See By Chloe are flattering and so fun to wear. It’s a classic look. With regard to pleats in general, my very sleek GiGi (grandmother) rocked the pleated skirts. I wish I had kept one of her skirts. She was one of my style icons growing up. She always had her clothes made and had a very specific style. In recent years my style has been quite varied. I’ve gone from a conservative southern country club look to british rock and roll and Ralf Lauren style.  Most recently, I keep going back to 70s style with a current twist.

These pants are feminine, classic, and in a way – timeless. I like the long legs for drama but they also could be hemmed and still have a chic flair. I was going to wear them with this velvet jacket but it’s still to hot. Unless you are the overly air-conditioned buildings. I think it will be fun to figure out various ways to style these pants.

I’m including other hat and statement pant options in the shopping links section down below. Statement pants, the A.L.C. ones are on my hit list. Love that brand…. I’ll be talking about it in my next post. Hats are another game changer. Are you a hat girl? I am for so many reasons. Sun protection, bad hair days, brings the outfit together etc. This Eugenia Kim hat fits my large head, thank goodness. I am mostly into neutrals for my big ticket items but this pop of color is nice around the face.  And back to the 70’s, I also included a bunch of price points for platform booties. A big part of me wants all of them, in all colors. The wise shopper in me would rather just have the one pair that I wear over and over again.

Have fun! Thanks so much for visiting. Let me know what you think such as how you decide which seasonal fashion upgrades to invest in?

Love Jean
