Budget Friendly Breakfast Nook

Get this entire look online for under 1,000! I ordered everything online. The goal was to turn a small space into a “breakfast nook” without spending too much. Let’s talk about decorating trends, small space solutions, and pulling it together shopping online within the limits of a $1,000 budget. Including the white sun bleached rattan pendant for $160 and how we made it look similar the $450 one. Check out the before and after!

The Goal: Create a Breakfast Nook in a Small Space {$1,000 budget}

We just spent a wonderful month with my parents in North Carolina. We have a separate common living space on the main floor. The very small downstairs kitchenette had a desk next to it. So, I moved the desk to the corner of the room and ordered this table, light fixture, cushioned bench and cushions, pillows and everything else online. Basically, the only thing that they had before were these beautiful antique tavern chairs.

This Woven light Fixture for under $160

{I added the chain and painted the canopy}

I found this woven light fixture on Wafair. Whats not to love it’s basically like a flipped upside down basket. Compare it to this one from Serena and Lily. They are the same shape and size. I’ve seen more expensive versions that have a chain and a nicer canopy. I’m actually in love with this light fixture click here to see it and why. It has the chain that inspired me to upgrade the one we used.

What we did to make it this one look like a higher end version.

Buy some white chain and have the electrician weave it in with the wiring.
Spray paint the chrome so the canopy disappears

Woven Wall Art for the Win

Continuing with the woven trend, I went nuts with all things woven for the walls including hats flower baskets and the cute little fish. I blame the boho mood that’s hard to resist at the moment. These are vintage woven basket I found on Etsy. Click here for similar vintage flower baskets. I also ordered some more baskets from Anthropologie you can see them in the far corner of the room below.

Modern Farmhouse Tufted Wingback Bench

How beautiful is this modern farmhouse tufted bench! It’s such a great buy and versatile. I love the wingback design and it’s very comfortable. It’s also space efficient. Check it out here. Modern farmhouse combines the sleek clean lines of contemporary design with a cozy aesthetic to create a uniquely fresh take on the country living. The style is known for warmth and simplicity, characterized by natural textures. This modern farmhouse bench seems to add a relaxed transitional touch, not to mention being comfortable and beautiful. Even though it’s new, it blends nicely with the antique chairs.

Pillows, Chargers & Napkin Rings

Sticking with the natural theme I found these great options to finish out the tablescape. I adore how these white rattan chargers play off the white ratton light fixture. Using the same bright white rattan on the table just adds balance without being too matchy. It’s a good idea to repeat the same elements in small spaces. For a touch of boho style, these Pier One pillows play perfectly well with the wall art. Just FYI I was able to score this beautiful coral sculpture from OKL on sale. I’m linking it here but it’s not on sale at the moment. Natural coral is beautiful to me too. But I also love how this white coral sculpture pops.

Pulling it Together with Neutral Fabric Color

The beige linen-like upholstery on this bench is perfectly complementary to these cushions from Pottery Barn in the color Grainstock. Check them out here. These cushions are a size small for reference.

Decorating Trends & Online Shopping Deals

What trends are you loving in decorating now? Have you been noticing all the woven light fixtures EVERYWHERE? I’m not complaining. Obviously, I’m a fan 😉 As I mentioned earlier, when I ordered all these items they were on sale so the prices are little higher but let’s keep an eye out bc you know they will go back down. Assuming they don’t sell out. OMG, I love online shopping when it works this well 🙂
