Key Elements for a Mid Mod Den Update
My goal is to stick to a design theme. It’s hard because I love so many different styles. However, I’m always attracted to light bright interiors. Whether it’s mid mod, transitional, modern farmhouse or traditional as long as it’s light and bright it works for me.
The details are key elements
I recently added new rugs and pillows and a spine bookcase to balance out the vintage brass lighting and vintage sculpture. The key elements that make this room Mid Mod are the Sputnik lighting, opp art, spine bookcase, light chaser rug and pillows.
This rug—oh, I LOVE IT—replaced what had been a traditional antique rug that while beautiful, also had deep, dark colors. It took me the longest time to realize how much these colors could affect the entire mood of the room. Click here to see what I’m talking about.

Thank you, Krystin! I’m so happy to read this. Do you need more information about either of the brass pieces?

Wow! Nicely done. I love the light and bright neutral color scheme. I don’t know about you, but having a lighter room seems to give me more energy and make me more alert.
April 10, 2018 @ 1:43 pm
Couldn’t agree more, little brother! 🙂 Any thoughts on mid mod?
April 10, 2018 @ 1:50 pm
I like what you’ve done with the midcentury modern, or mid mod style. I’m not sure I’d go with that specific style. I’m not sure that I WOULDN’T. But I think more than anything I just like the neutral color scheme, the light and bright look.
April 10, 2018 @ 1:54 pm
Well, it wouldn’t have to be mid mod. One size doesn’t necessarily fit all. 🙂

Love this! I’ve been looking for the perfect double chaise sofa. Where is yours from?
April 12, 2018 @ 6:39 pm
Hey Kristine!
I had to have the sofa custom-made so that it would fit within our narrow room.
Thank you!!
