Swimming in Velvet

Our last couple of nights in Hawaii were spent at the Four Seasons Resort O’ahu at Ko Olina. This was a tropical paradise that was every bit as nice as I imagined it would be when I made the reservations. These pics were taken from the adult infinity pool and some from the rocky shoreline where we walked out to watch the sun begin to set on our last night in Hawaii.

My two favorite bathing suits this summer were two versions of a black one piece. (you can check out my other one here.) I absolutely love this velvet one piece! It reminds me of a swimsuit my aunt wore back in the 70s. If you know me at all you would know I am totally obsessed with anything retro 70s style. Here is a link to this suit now on-sale. Velvet is definitely in for Fall as well as a nice transitional texture to wear now. I just love this style; it may not be practical for athletic water activities but it’s perfect poolside and as a layering piece.

The chambray denim wrap dress that doubles as a great cover up its also on sale for $50! Check it out here.

I made a friend by the pool who was also celebrating her birthday and she shared her beautiful flower crown with me. Hawaii is well known for its beautiful tropical flowers. It really is a peaceful paradise. Did you know that the only natural predators are sharks? They don’t have harmful snakes or spiders like other tropical locations which is a huge plus in my opinion!

P.S I know this post is mostly pictures but my husband was trigger happy with the camera that last night and I thought he did a great job. 🙂
